How Pathfinder Works

Pathfinder is the new reward system that was introduced to Destiny 2 with the release of the Final Shape. It replaces Bounties and Weekly challenges and is available anywhere from the Director screen. There are four Pathfinder cards: one for each of the Ritual activities (Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit) and one for the Pale Heart.

There are 20 objectives divided into 5 tiers. Players would need to complete at least one challenge from each tier to progress forward until they will be able to claim the big reward at the end. Pathfinder can then be reset with Glimmer and completed again for additional rewards.
