Nerub'ar Palace Overview - The War Within Season 1

Nerub'ar Palace will be the first raid of the expansion and one of the first endgame activities after The War Within launches. It not only tests players' skills but also unveils the storyline of the Nerubian Empire. The final challenge in this raid is Queen Ansurek, a powerful leader allied with Xal'atath, the Harbinger. Defeating her will be the ultimate test of your raid group's skill and coordination.

Nerub'ar Palace Location

Azj-Kahet: The City of Threads: Nerub'ar Palace is located in Azj-Kahet, a new zone added in The War Within expansion. The area is characterized by webbed structures and suspended architecture. It's built in a terrace-like structure where the wealthier Nerubians reside in the higher terraces, while the poorer ones live in The Burrows.

New Raid Difficulty: Story Mode

The War Within introduces a new raid difficulty called Story Mode, designed as a narrative experience for players who are more interested in unraveling the story of the raid and not the loot. Unlike LFR, which still requires forming raid parties, Story Mode allows private groups of one to five players to engage with the raid content without needing large groups. This mode is set to release alongside the final wing of LFR difficulty for players at the appropriate questing point. While details on loot drops and scaling are yet to be revealed, Story Mode offers a more accessible way for players to confront Queen Ansurek and experience the raid's story.

Nerub'ar Palace Bosses

Nerub'ar Palace features eight new and challenging boss fights, each featuring unique mechanics that will test your raid group's skills and coordination. After your group clears the first seven bosses of the raid, be ready for the final, climactic battle against Queen Ansurek. Understanding each boss's abilities and strategies is key to emerging victorious in this endgame raid. Ulgrax the Devourer

Tanks	Work with an off-tank to manage Tenderized debuffs and handle Disembowel from Ravenous Spawn.

The Bloodbound Horror

This fight is split into two phases.

Phase 1: Avoid Black Blood pools and manage Black Sepsis debuffs.
Phase 2: Focus on adds quickly to reduce raid-wide damage.

Sikran, Captain of the Sureki

Damage Dealers	Focus on avoiding Rain of Arrows and dealing with exposed weaknesses.
Healers	Keep an eye on players affected by Cosmic Scar and be ready for high-damage periods.
Tanks	Be prepared for frequent weapon changes and manage debuffs accordingly.

Rasha'nan

Damage Dealers	Avoid Rolling Acid and quickly destroy Sticky Webs.
Healers	Manage healing during Spinneret's Strands and avoid Acid Pools.
Tanks	Position Rasha'nan to minimize the impact of Rolling Acid and avoid Sticky Webs.

Eggtender Ovi'nax

Damage Dealers	Prioritize adds and avoid Unstable Web.
Healers	Manage heavy healing periods during Volatile Concoction.
Tanks	Maintain health above 75% to survive Volatile Concoction.

Nexus-Princess Ky'veza

Nerubar Palace Loot Item Levels

As usual with raiding, Nerub'ar Palace will offer a plethora of rewards to match its challenges, offering loot that scales with the raid's difficulty. Item levels in this raid range from 571-580 in Raid Finder to 610 to 619 on Mythic difficulty.

Additionally, rare drops provide even higher item levels, such as 619 in Mythic, and special questline items include the legendary hunter weapon, Bloodvenom, the Queen’s Splintered Tooth, along with cross-faction questline weapons like Shattered Edge of Baneful Futures and Splintered Twilight.

Raid Finder Difficulty: 571-580 ilvl;
Normal Difficulty: Item Level 584-593 ilvl;
Heroic Difficulty: Item Level 597-606 ilvl;
